EVT-3 maintains the basic format and qualities of the EVT–2 (e.g., parallel forms, stimulus questions, easy administration and response capture, accurate scoring) with additional upgrades and digital applications.

Benefits

  • Measure expressive vocabulary acquisition.
  • Contribute useful information when assessing expressive vocabulary, as part of a language evaluation, across the lifespan.
  • Contribute useful information when screening or assessing strengths and weaknesses in the specific domain of semantics (i.e., word knowledge) and general area of language development.
  • Directly compare receptive and expressive vocabulary.
  • Move immediately into evidence-based interventions using those presented within the Q-global system.

Features

EVT-3 can be combined with PPVT-5, its co-normed companion test for receptive vocabulary, and The Bridge of Vocabulary 2.

  • Available in paper/pencil and digital formats.
  • Qualitative Analyses: five ways to help you make hypotheses about vocabulary performance.
  • Growth Scale Values (GSVs): an objective score for measuring changes in performance over time.
  • Updated normative data.

NEW! PPVT-5/EVT-3 Progress Monitoring Assistant (PMA)

We released a tool to help you track longer-term changes in overall vocabulary performance—the Progress Monitoring Assistant (PMA). Simply input the Standard Score and Growth Scale Value for each administration and get an instant analysis of change, statistical significance, and an interpretive statement. It’s free for qualified users on Pearson’s Q-global system.

GSV Conversion tables between versions (e.g., PPVT-4 to -5; EVT-2 to -3)

Want to convert your GSV for PPVT-4 or EVT-2 into current version equivalents? You can! We have added an Appendix to the manual so you can do any easy look-up. Or use the new Progress Monitoring Assistant (PMA) we’ll do it for you (see above).
